During 2006/07 the NSPCC made real and significant progress in its FULL STOP Campaign to end cruelty to children. With strong and continuing support from all sections of society and new funds from the Government, we are working hard to achieve our goal.
These pie charts demonstrate our total income for the year and how money was spent. Around four-fifths of funds were spent on the NSPCC's activities to end cruelty to children. These include new initiatives like the Fresh Start centre in London and the Hargreaves Centre in Liverpool, public education campaigns, and training for statutory services and many others.
The remaining fifth was spent on generating more funds to support the NSPCC's wide-ranging work as the vast majority of our income comes from public donations. However, last year we were helped specifically by large one-off contributions.
Meanwhile, new Government funding is also helping to develop new services such as our Child Trafficking Advice and Information Line. In 2007/08 it will also start to help the ChildLine service, which in 2006/07 received a call from a child every 30 seconds.
These film clips explore the NSPCC's recent achievements, as well as its plans for the future, in more detail.
