Sportscheck

A step by step guide for sports organisations to safeguard children

Sportscheck is a toolkit designed by specialist staff of the NSPCC Child Protection in Sports Unit to help sports organisations develop a child protection policy, recruitment and training procedures and a code of practice. It will help organisations prevent abuse and protect children.

Children have a right to be safe and happy in the sports activities that they enjoy, and parents have a right to believe that the sports clubs or organisations they entrust are safe. All sports organisations have, therefore, a duty of care for the children who use their facilities and services.

Sportscheck has been developed for sports clubs and organisations of any size that provide activities and services for children or young people under the age of 18 years.
